Un homme a été jugé en France, accusé d’avoir tué trois femmes qu’il aurait tenues pour responsables d’avoir ruiné sa carrière.
Gabriel Fortin, 48 ans, a été arrêté en 2021 dans la ville méridionale de Valence.

Le premier meurtre a eu lieu le 26 janvier 2021 en Alsace, dans l’est de la France. Estelle Luce, responsable des ressources humaines, a reçu une balle dans la tête dans le parking de son entreprise après le travail.
Plus tard dans la soirée, à environ 50 km (30 miles), un autre responsable des ressources humaines a été abattu à son domicile par un homme se faisant passer pour un livreur de pizza. La victime, Bertrand Meichel, a survécu.
Deux jours plus tard, à 500 km au sud, un homme masqué et porteur d’un sac plastique blanc pénètre dans le Pôle Emploi de Valence, sort une arme d’un sac plastique et tue la directrice des allocations, Patricia Pasquion.
Quelques minutes plus tard, une autre responsable RH, Géraldine Caclin, est abattue dans une entreprise de services à l’environnement près de Valence.
La plaque d’immatriculation de la voiture utilisée par le tireur alors qu’il quittait le Pôle Emploi a conduit les policiers à M. Fortin. Il a été immédiatement lié au meurtre ultérieur.
En 2009, Mme Caclin avait engagé une procédure de licenciement après une période d’essai infructueuse. M. Fortin s’était alors inscrit à Pôle Emploi de Valence, et ses indemnités de chômage ont fini par s’épuiser.
Mme Pasquion n’a jamais eu affaire à lui, mais la police pense qu’il en voulait au personnel du centre.
Les enquêteurs l’ont rapidement mis en relation avec les premières fusillades dans l’est de la France.
Estelle Luce et Bertrand Meichel avaient été impliqués dans son licenciement d’une autre entreprise en 2006, plus de 14 ans plus tôt.
La police a passé plus de deux ans à parcourir les données de son ordinateur. Ils disent avoir de nombreuses preuves de son amertume persistante, ainsi que des efforts pour suivre les mouvements de ses éventuelles victimes.
